Favorite Cleaning Tools

Very few people love cleaning their house. I am definitely not one of them. However, I have found having the right tools at least makes it less painful and quicker. Here are some of my favorites.

  1. O-Cedar mop and Spin Bucket. This combo is the best mop out there. The bucket spins all the excess water out making it ideal for hardwood floors or other floors that shouldn't get too wet. The floors dry fast, leaving less time for slips or little footprints across the wet floor. The mop heads pop right off and are machine washable. I have a couple extra mop heads so I always have a clean one ready.

  2. Miele Vacuum Cleaner. This vacuum is definitely a splurge but so worth it. I have a bit of a love of vacuum cleaners and have owned so many kinds and brands but none top this one. It was actually one of the first things I replaced after our house because I couldn’t stand the vacuum at our rental house and knew how much I loved this one. Our current house is mostly hardwood floors and I use the Parquet twister attachment throughout the house. This attachment is wide and swivels, making it quick and easy to get all areas vacuumed quickly. The Miele Is the first canister vacuum I have had and I really love it. (This is another option that is less expensive. I keep this one at a rental house we own. It has fewer features but is a great option.)

  3. Microfiber Cleaning Cloths. I buy the packs of 50 on amazon. We use these for everything at our house—daily bathroom cleaning, weekly cleaning, deep cleaning, windows, pet messes, kid messes, and on and on. We keep a pile in each bathroom for daily cleaning and stacks in the laundry room and kitchen. I like that they are inexpensive enough that you don’t feel bad about throwing a few away here and there after using them for those really bad jobs.

  4. Colorful Cleaning Caddy. I store cleaning supplies under the sink in each bathroom in this cleaning caddy. I have two in each bathroom—one for cleaning supplies and the other for microfiber rags. They are easy to clean and come a variety of fun colors.
